The Best of Pornucopia

HBO presents a half-hour "best of" edition of the adults-only documentary series that has taken viewers on an insider's tour of the booming, recession-proof adult-entertainment industry, estimated to generate nearly $10 billion per year. The series chronicled the emergence of LA's San Fernando Valley as the center of the adult-entertainment universe - a subculture with its own language, rules, etiquette and mores - through segments focusing on a dizzying array of sex enterprises and entrepreneurs. Featuring candid insights from actors, producers and sexologists, The Best of Pornucopia features select segments from previous editions, uncovering different aspects of the industry, showing how adult entertainment is produced, distributed, marketed and consumed in films, on TV, in magazines and on the Internet.
 

The producer/director of A Real Sex Xtra: The Best of Pornucopia: Going Down in the Valley is Dan Chaykin, who has produced for such newsmagazines as West 57th and Day One. Steve Ziplow, author of A Filmmaker's Guide to Pornography, is the series' executive producer.
